Brand identity for EmMA Ready

Emma Ready is a superb Edinburgh B-Girl, choreographer and educator. She teaches and performs as a breakdancer in the city and has a loyal online following.

She came to Mr Smith Creative in 2020 looking for a new brand identity. I worked with her to develop a new brand and provided her with a toolkit to create her own promo materials in the future.

We went through a thorough analysis of her competitors, pinpointing what she liked and didn’t like, and developed a creative brief to help her focus on exactly how she wanted to come across to her customers.

I then conducted a thorough visual research process to immerse myself in breakdance culture.

We came to realise that success for her brand meant it needed to strike a fine balance between professionalism and a personal approach. By combining slick, modern graphics with a more organic, hand made approach, we created a confident, unique identity.

Emma Ready has a new brand, new guidelines to follow and digital templates to use, so that everything she produces from now on consistently reflects her values and vision.
